Sonic branding that leaves the listener floating, ready for the next show in a state of calm.

As the BBC launched three new radio station for the first time in 20 years, Granny Eats Wolf collaborated with platinum selling artist Benbrick to produce the sonic identity for BBC Radio 3 Unwind - a calming classical music station that helps listeners unwind, destress and escape the pressures of daily life.

The brief was to create four themes with one sonic motif that could expresses mood states throughout the day. Each theme follows similar steps to reach a different mood destination.

  1. Setting you up for the day (FRESH, LIGHT, WARM, INVITING, ELEVATING)

  2. Deal with your stresses and getting through the day (CALM, MINDFUL, FOCUS)

  3. Make peace  (RICH, CURIOUS, EMOTIVE, WARM)

  4. Ready For Another Day (COMFORTING, FREEING, SOOTHING, PEACEFUL)

Our goal was to create the desired mood for the day part and provide momentum for the stream, always concluding with a satisfying sense of fulfilment at the point of the sonic logo.

The project was nominated for Best Sonic Branding at the UK’s most prestigious audio awards, ARIAS 2025.
